The land was purchased in 1906 by Fr. Schmitt the rector of St. Andrew's Cathedral. On 7 Sept 1914 Bishop Richter blessed the combination church/school. A gymnasium was constructed in in 1929, a school addition in 1938 and a convent in 1941.Ancona

Additions were made to the school in 1957. Ancona

The current church was built in 1960.  Msgr Schultz directed the construction  for the then largest parish and he thought it would become the new cathedral.   Ancona
