1895 Sanborn Fire Map:  before the GRPS purchased the land.

1908, Oct 28 purchased for  $14,000  Lots 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,26,27,28,29   Salem T Turner Add

Platted by Williams in 1905 for Salem Turner. and Thomas Bradfield. Turner Court renamed Elgin Court 1920.

1914 - Built

1915 scheduled to be completed.  .

1916 - South High opened September 7, 1915.

                       This only From Citz 1926

1917 - Sites Committee- considering - an athletic field. 

1921 Annual Report - old 11th Ward - lots 1-12 and 26-29 of Salem T Turner's Addition. 

1921 - The gymnasiums are too small and are needed for classroom purposes.  It would be advisable to build a huge gymnasium suitable for boys and girls at the southwest corner of the building to be connected with the corridor. 

          

 

1922 - six lots up to Elgin Ct purchased towards  the west, lots 23,24,25

1930 - three lots up to Elgin Ct purchased towards east, lots 13,14,15

1960's -  Lots below Elgin Ct , lots 16-22 below Elgin Ct.

Oct 1979 sold to US Dept of Labor for $1500. 

1953 Sanborn Fire Map page 379 shows the classrooms as built in 1915, gym as built in 1923 and the auditorium in 1931.
