I superimposed raw data from Baxter's History onto the 1907 map.  I have not yet verified the accuracy.

To read the names across on the map:

Chubb  Davis  Davis   Coit Coit Tileston Hart Hart

Thome Davis Davis Coit Coit Lyman Hart Hart

Davis Lyon  Dexter Lyman Bronson Haines

Smith Lyon  Dexter Bradford Bronson Gilman

Storr Lyon  Dexter Coit Coit Silsbee

Scribner Lyon Dexter Coit Coit Silsbee

Scribner Campau Dexter Wadsworth Coit Mills

Scribner Campau  Dexter Guild Coit Winston

----- Lyon   Dexter Campau Hastings Bronson

----- Ellsworth Dexter Sprague Hastings Bronson

------ Barton  Grant Murry Bradford

------ Barton Grant Murry Bradford

------  Jones Woolley Bronson Bronson

------- Jones Woolley Bronson Bronson

Unfortunately the duplicate Kent County Grantor/Grantee index (the original burned in a fire) maintained for over 100 years at  taxpayers' expense was "sold" or "leased"  by the politicians to Burton Abstract Company which was located across the street from the county building and allowed the public in for free but then they got bought out by an outside company who got bought out and they didn't need it so they threw it away. So we only have Baxter's record.

From Baxter, pg 20.

Baxter does not include land in sections 17, 20, 29 and 32 which were rescinded and then re-annexed in 1891 which I find regrettable.

Walker Twp R7N 11W

I have to note that Baxter's description of land in Walker Twp is unclear, at least to me.  So this is my best "assumption".  I think I'm close but am not confident.

Island #3  Richard Godfrey

W 1/2 NW 1/4 James Scribner

Lots 1 and 2 American Baptist Mission School

Lot 3 George M Mills for the Catholic Mission

Lot 4 Daniel P Van Allen

Bascially, Louis Campau owned downtown south of Lyon, north of Fulton and west of Division.

The east channel of the river was filled in and the island "disappeared".  They would have been west of Monroe Avenue.

Lucius Lyon owned all around Louis Campau while Ellsworth owned land near Cherry Street.

James Scribner owned north of Fulton Street while the missions were south of Fulton Street and near the river.

I would therefore assume that Daniel P Van Allen owned land near the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4.

I would be remiss if I did not pass along the story that Mr. Stocking laid out Stocking Road on a direct N/S line to his house without any help, without the proper tools and obviously without the proper expertise. .
