Mary Waters Park

Mary Waters Park is adjacent to the grounds of East Leonard School and Creston Park in Tanner Taylor's Addition.  A number of streets were vacated, re-routed, created since this plat was drawn including Lafayette Avenue. Holcomb and parts of North Avenue and LeGrand (Barnett) have been vacated.

The City acquired land both east and west of Lafayette Avenue.  The land east of Lafayette is SW of  East Leonard Street School.  The land west of Lafayette was a natural storm water drainage pond now Creston Public Housing which floods out every year.

To the north was St. John's Orphanage which still stood when I was a child.
