Bridge Street and Lake Michigan Drive
The white and green house on the corner matched the white and green service station on the opposite corner. I was very disappointed when the service station was torn down. I was even more surprised to discover the same person owned all three. (The 1936 site map was so faint I copied a modern one but it is basically the same only darker) 2 story 20x60x25Ht solid brick/ store and flat bldg First floor: 12' ceiling, metal, hardwood floor, 1 toilet and lav, heat stove coal Second Floor: Apt. 4 rooms, 1 bath, oine trim and floor, plaster, coal stove Tar and gravel roof. West of the freeway, on the south side of the street, just before Covell are a series of houses in an unusual style. I always thought of them as post WWI California style. 1930 Lake Michigan Dr NW 1932 Lake Michigan Dr NW 1934 Lake Michigan Dr NW 1946 Lake Michigan Drive NW - I LOVE this house.
