Village of Grand Rapids
This map shows the official Village of Grand Rapids in 1836 which combined Louis Campau's Village of Grand Rapids plat with part of Lucius Lyons' Village of Kent plat. The blue line encircles Campau's plat which was surveyed according to the French method, angled streets ending at the river.
This map was originally copied from Baxter's History of the City of Grand Rapids. Blue was also added to the Grand River, the east branch was later filled in.
