Lookout Park

I played in Lookout Park as a child.

from Linda Samuel's book Heart and Soul. I played on this statue.

The view before City neglect turned it into brush.

Belknap Park

Well I never heard it called Belknap Park when I was a kid but it's shown on an early Sanborn map as Belknap Park.
We called it Reservoir Park.  It was used by adults for baseball and other adult activities.  I never played in Reservoir Park as a child - too many cars.

This photo from Linda Samuel's book Heart and Soul shows the park as I remember it in the 1950's.

They tore down this bluff about 1965 to sell as fill dirt for the new expressway.

These photos are from the GRPL collection but I dropped them and the identifying numbers became separated.
Most of these appear to be from the 1920's.

This was probably on the Island.
