          Kent Twp - brief inventory of  early Grand Rapid Township schools.

          Paris Twp - don't know yet, maybe never

          Walker Twp - asked but received no response

          Wyoming Twp - don't know yet

2. City of Grand Rapids Schools

          City begins with three schools in 1850  - includes location map

                Central, Union, Coldbrook (East Leonard)

          The Big Three 1851-1871  - includes location map

                District 1: Central: North Division, South Division, Wealthy, (Vanden Berg), Fountain, Grandville

                District 2: Union:  Turner, Lexington

                District 3: Coldbrook (East Leonard), North Ionia (Coldbrook)

          The Grand Rapids Board of Education 1872-1890      - includes location map

                Coit, East Bridge, Henry, Madison, Pine, Plainfield, Sheldon, South Ionia, Stocking, Straight, West Leonard, 

          Annexation 1891- includes location map

               Baxter, Congress, Diamond, Hall, Lake, Oakdale, Sibley, Walker, Widdicomb

          1892-1911

                Buchanan, Jefferson, Palmer, Buchanan , Alexander, Sigsbee, Finney

           1916-1927   New Regime, New Construction techniques, more annexations

            1929-1946  the Depression and WWII

             1950 - 1960  the Baby Boom

             2000 - new century, new challenges.
