Downtown Retail
When I was a child, the downtown retail stores were divided into areas.
The Working class shopped around Campau Square
The Middle Class shopped along Upper Monroe and Monument Square
The Upper Class shopped around Fulton Street
Street numbers were changed in 1912. To see a list of these street number/name changes compared with a list from 1954 along with the corresponding Sanborn Fire Maps see street lists and Retail maps
