City of Grand Rapids boundaries 1857-1891

1857-1891 master from Baxter's History of Grand Rapids

Annotated showing street name changes:

Unfortunately, I could not make the annotated writing any smaller.  Only a capital letter was used if a short street was renamed the nearby longer street's name.  There may have been intermediate changes.  See City Street Name Changes.  It may be necessary to flip back and forth between this annotated map and the above master to discern the actual streets unobscured.

Annotated showing cemeteries

Greenwood Cemetery is really father to the west, actually off the map.

KC:  former Kent Cemetery which was abandoned very early

TE:  Temple Emanuel Cemetery is older but adjoins Oak Hill on the southwest corner

VC: Valley City lies just south of Hall Street, actually off the map

F: Fulton Cemetery, most of which is to the east, actually off the map.
